Held on Monday 5th to Thursday 8th November 2018 at the Rotunda Hall of the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affair, Tafawa Balewa House, Abuja, the 4-day long conference was attended by more than 250 delegates from over 25 different institutions across African Continent. The Opnening Plenary Session of the conference was attended by the Honorable Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria – H.E. Geoffery Onyeama, The Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations – Mr. Edward Kallon, The Country Director of the United Nations Information Office in Nigeria – Mr. Ronald D. Kayanja, Ambassadors of Finland and The Mauritania to Nigeria, The Vice Chancellors of the University of Abuja and the Nile University of Nigeria, The Chairmen of EFCC and ICPC – Mr. Mustapha Ibrahim Magu and Dr. Musa Usman Abubakar respectively.
The theme of the conference; Winning the Fight Against Corruption: A Sustainable Path To African Transformation was conceptualized on the 30th Assembly of the AU Heads of State and Government held in January 2018 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia where the Year 2018 was Launched and Designated as the African Anti-Corruprion Year.
AIMUN’18 created the required dais for the Youths to discuss and pivot generally, an acceptable solutions (Resolutions) to the cancerous subject of corruption as a sustainable path to a prosperous and peaceful Africa.
